Inspiolto is a combination of two medications Olodaterol and Tiotropium, that are used to make breathing easier for people who experience breathing problems due to a lung disease called Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (including chronic bronchitis and emphysema). Tiotropium is a long-acting muscarinic agent (LAMA) and olodaterol is a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA). Olodaterol and Tiotropium relax the muscle in the walls of the small airways in the lungs. Both the medications work together to help open the airways and make it easier for the air to get in and out of the lungs. Inspiolto help prevents shortness of breath and wheezing. Always use Inspiolto exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The recommended dose of Inspiolto is 2 puffs (5 mcg tiotropium and 5 mcg olodaterol), once daily at the same time of the day, every day. Do not stop using Inspiolto or other medicines to control or treat your COPD unless told to do so by your healthcare provider because your symptoms might get worse. Your healthcare provider will change your medicines as needed.
Inspiolto is available from Canada manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim (Canada) Ltd. Inspiolto is available as 4 mL inhalation solution. Each puff delivers 2.5 mcg tiotropium (as tiotropium bromide monohydrate) and 2.5 mcg olodaterol (as olodaterol hydrochloride) from the mouthpiece.
